Play PLAY is such an important part of our lives. As adults we have forgotten what it is. As a result we tend to formalise it and call it exercise and make it into a chore, which most do reluctantly. As generations go by without play, in turn many parents, out of fear or otherwise do not encourage children to play.

One hour off football on a saturday morning is not what I call play. Especially when it is followed by fast food, cause you are so proud of your child and they deserve a treat. Fast food should never be referred to as a treat but that is whole different subject.

PLAY is the basis of everything; physical strength and positive metal attitude. A feel good factor. Its time to relearn a few things, that Play is the very foundations that create great athletes. If being an athlete is not your thing, then Play will encourage creativity. If creativity is not your thing then I guarantee you it will make academia a whole lot productive. That way they will truly learn what they study and not just regurgitate it on exam days.

But back to PLAY. Lets play. In fact get out there with your kids, nieces and nephew, hell borrow your friends kids and get outside and play. Run through the woods and climb those trees. You can do it. Play those old games that you remember like IT (I think that’s what they are called. I know I am getting old). Lets encourage children to be children again. Fuck the fame for now, they can be famous something later on in life. But for now get the basic right.

Some Quote to end with about PLAY:

“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.” Plato

“Play is the only way the highest intelligence of humankind can unfold.” Joseph Chilton Pearce

“Play has been man’s most useful preoccupation.” Frank Caplan

“It is paradoxical that many educators and parents still differentiate between a time for learning and a time for play without seeing the vital connection between them.” Leo F. Buscaglia

“If animals play, this is because play is useful in the struggle for survival; because play practices and so perfects the skills needed in adult life” Susanna Miller

“Play is a uniquely adaptive act, not subordinate to some other adaptive act, but with a special function of its own in human experience.” Johan Huizinga

“Play is the exultation of the possible.” Martin Buber

“Play keeps us vital and alive. It gives us an enthusiasm for life that is irreplaceable. Without it, life just doesn’t taste good” Lucia Capocchione

“Work consists of whatever a body is obliged to do. Play consists of whatever a body is not obliged to do.” Mark Twain

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” George Bernard Shaw
