Its been a tough week battling the sub zero temperature every day. With 4.30/5am wake up call almost every mornings for the last few months. We have to listen to our bodies. Our bodies are wise things you know. While doing hill sprints with a client this morning and yesterdays training session I felt that something could just snap. Not my mind as the mind is pretty tough, but something in my body.
So instead of a heavy Strength session that I had planned for myself I decided to spend my session today doing Yoga and Mobility Drills. And just as well I did. My joints were crackling, my shoulder mobility was poor and generally a solid lump of ice ready to crack. I would suggest on days like this listen to your body. REST is just as important as all the training that we do. Yoga and Mobility work (this I learned from attending Steve Maxwell’s seminar earlier this year), is my way. Find your on way.
For those that are feeling up to a heavy weights session, here goes:
Working up to Heavy Back Squat
5×5 BB Overhead Squats
5×10 BB Overhead Lunges (5 each side)
3×12 BB Rear Leg Elevated Squat/Lunge (6 each side) +

3×6 Pistols (Body weight or KB) +
3x30seconds Wall-sits (Stress Position)
10 minutes of Skipping
Cool down and Stretch Out
