As time goes by I have realised that winning is much more than a physical thing. Its all in the sate of mind. Yes it is true that one may have better genes and a talent best suited for a given discipline. However we carve our own path. The road ahead may look bleak but its is upto you to find the courage and strength within to keep moving forward. Its not just in a special few, its in all of us. We all struggle sometimes, from birth we struggle to survive, but now as you read this, its time to rise. Rise for yourself, your family; and you will be proud of all the daily sacrifices that you will have made to find that moment of joy. The world ahead is not fucked up. Its what you make it.
The Damon-Bahe Boxing Club began in 1960 with a mission to provide a safe haven for at-risk youth in the community. With the ever-increasing problem of alcohol, drugs and gangs, the Damon-Bahe Boxing Club strives to offer a place to build self-esteem, self-confidence and the “Never Give Up” attitude as well as physical fitness. The club was also the inspiration for the movie “Black Cloud” which was filmed at the gym in Chinle, Arizona, as well as other sites through out the Navajo Nation. Their boxing program is non-profit and volunteer based.
